Our fervent hope is that this sense of belonging radiates out and transforms into an embodied welcoming through open hearts, minds, and hands that together can heal the world as we were healed.

Birds can help us, for they can see what we cannot. To them, we are in the dark. They point us to the way of wonder even when we can’t see the light, but they can.

One Earth Conservation (OEC) is a founding member of the International Alliance for the Protection of Parrots (IAPP) and helped organize the IAPP’s second Parrot Crisis Summit, which was presented online with a focus on ways to take action to help parrots, and people, globally.

When we share what inspires us we also grow our connections with other humans as we come to understand their minds and hearts. In so doing, we become stronger and more committed to caring for each other, the earth, and other species.

For the goal of promoting joy, mutual liberation, and unconditional solidarity we have begun holding Birding for Life gatherings, online, at sunrise two times a week.

Transformation happens when we gather, collectively organizing for a better world. You can join us in unconditional solidarity next year as we gather to camp under the stars and macaw nests in Honduras.

We saw zero large macaws during a 5-day visit to Northern Paraguay but there is zero chance that we won't return to the area to begin a parrot conservation project there.

Together we are liberated by our service to achieve freedom so that parrots and humans alike may fly free and flourish.

This year the rain in Honduras is particularly heavy. Despite difficulties with travel and camping, the patrollers continue saving and resuing birds.

Every human is born with Multispecies Intelligence, just as we are with Social Intelligence that speaks to human interactions. We innately focus on others, be they humans or other species, as our young brains discover who we are by being in relationships.

Being compassoinate in conservation can open the way to the urgent transformation we need today.

The wonder and complexity is so much more than we could ever imagine. And because we limit our view, we diminish our chances for caring for life on this planet.

Twenty different projects were presented from the Parrot Conservation Corps from all over the world. The projects brought hope and transformation.

Conservation then is not just a learning, but a relearning process – to know that we live in nature and that we are a whole.
