Martin Luther King Jr., who was honored in the USA a few days ago during a national holiday, exemplified unconditional solidarity.  His philosophy of solidarity was rooted in the belief that justice is an interconnected global struggle. He frequently proclaimed that "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,"strongly arguing that no individual or community can be truly free until all are free. We honored him today in our Sunrise Birding for Life gathering.

He also wrote, "We must live together as brothers or perish together as fools," a quote reflecting that the health of one is the health of all. If one individual has low welfare and is perishing due to domination and oppression, then we all are.

We all are caged within a system of domination and oppression, for harm to one is harm to all. In other words we are all in this together.

Let us not perish, or any being. Towards that aim, you are invited to a life of Unconditional Solidarity by participating in our upcoming campaign in La Moskitia, Honduras.

I have been working with some amazing people and parrots from La Moskitia and they are endangered. For 15 years One Earth Conservation has partnered with Indigenous villagers there to save the scarlet and great green macaws. We have had amazing success, and two of the villages have founded the first Indigenous parrot sanctuary in the world. Yet, they are at risk of losing everything that they have created in partnership with One Earth Conservation. These communities cannot do this alone, and One Earth Conservation doesn’t have the funds to pay for nest patrols this year.

They need you and they need the world to unify with them in Unconditional Solidarity.  Please join us for an Unconditional Solidarity Campaign, either in person, online, or both.

I will be camping along with the Indigenous parrot rangers under macaw nest trees in March and April 2026 to protect the birds and their nests. During this time, we will hold daily online meetings where you can talk to the Indigenous conservationists, hear their daily reports, and explore themes of Unconditional Solidarity and Transformative Conservation.

Consider taking risks as these people have, because everything is at risk.

And perhaps, like me and others, you will be transformed.

For more information go to our website, and if you can help us with our publicity and social media to spread the word, please fill out our Interest Form or contact us directly.
