You don't have to be a scientist, live in a parrot's native habitat, or have years of conservation experience to make a difference. You need a willingness to learn, a commitment to solidarity, and a desire to put your concern for parrots into action.

The challenges facing parrots are interconnected with the challenges facing the people, ecosystems, and communities with whom they share this Earth. Meeting those challenges requires more than knowledge alone. It requires relationships, collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to standing together.

The International Parrot Conservation Corps invites you to be part of that work. Together we learn parrot behavior, ecology and conservation science and methodologies. Together we grow our capacity to build teams that act now and that will continue positively impacting the well-being of many far into the future.

Wherever you are in the world, there is a place for you in this work. You can join the many others who have already joined the Corps from 17 countries and 4 continents.  There are now established chapters in Honduras and Paraguay, and currently one is underway in Guyana. In Guyana most of our partipcants are students from the Centre for the Study of Biological Diversity, University of Georgetown with whom we are collaborating for this cohort. We also have professors and staff from this University, teachers from other instituions in Georgetown, and governmental staff from the Guyana Wildlife Conservation and Management Comission. These newest Corps members are busy developing a Conservation Solidarity Plan for their country as well as designing a miniproject that suits their interests and the parrots needs.

We will nearly double the number of participating countries in early 2027 as we extend this to the Caribbean and to Suriname, where it will be offered as a credited course at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.

Our next cohort begins in August 2027, and our invitation is open now. Join a global community committed to learning together, acting together, and building a future in which parrots and the communities who share their world can thrive.
